SECTION 18 UNIFORMS
A. Standard Uniform
A Flight Attendant shall wear the standard uniform(s) as prescribed in Company regulations at all times while on duty, or in connection with any event where the employee is identified as an Air Wisconsin Flight Attendant.
B. Initial Uniform
A new hire Flight Attendant shall be responsible for the purchase of her initial basic uniforms and accessories incident to employment. A newly employed Flight Attendant, must purchase the basic uniform items from the Company, unless the Company determines that the uniform items already owned meet all the Company’s requirements

The basic uniform which must be purchased by new hire Flight Attendants will consist of the following:

D. Replacement Uniform Items and Accessories
1. In January of each year, each flight attendant who has completed 12 months of seniority will be credited with a number of points determined by the number of months the flight attendant worked in the previous year. A flight attendant who works nine (9) or more months in a year will receive 300 points unless adjusted in accordance with paragraph D.3. A flight attendant who works fewer than nine (9) months will receive points equal to 300, multiplied by a fraction, the numerator of which will be the flight attendant’s actual months worked in the previous year and the denominator of which will be twelve (12). However, there is no point adjustment if the total inactive time is less than three (3) months. Each point is equal to one dollar ($1.00).

2. For employees with fewer than 12 months of seniority on January 1, a partial allowance will be credited on the first day of the 13th month following the employee’s seniority date for use during the current year. Partial allowances will be credited according to the following schedule.

3. The point allowance will be adjusted each year by a proportionate amount that the cost of the full uniform increases or decreases.
4. The replacement point system may be used for basic, or additional uniform items listed on the approved order form. A Flight Attendant is limited to purchasing one suitcase, one top coat, one small purse and one large purse per year using points. Other uniform items may be purchased as needed.
5. Points may not be carried over from year to year. Uniform orders using points should be placed by December 1 of each year.
6. New hire uniform orders must be sent through the Supply Department. A Flight Attendant may call, fax or e-mail her uniform order to the vendor using points or on a “cash with order” basis. If payroll deduction is desired, the Flight Attendant must order through Supply. The Company will assist the Flight Attendant in resolving any problems with the vendor.
E. Uniform items received in a defective condition or unusable for any reason should be returned to the supervisor within fourteen (14) days of receipt.
F. Insignia
A Flight Attendant will be provided insignia consisting of one (1) set of wings. If name tags or other insignia are required, the Company will provide them.
G. Payment Schedule
Payments for initial uniform pieces, as well as optional and additional items which are in excess of the point allowance, will be on either a cash or payroll deduction basis. Uniform costs which are to be payroll deducted must be ordered through Supply. Cost of the uniforms will be deducted at a rate of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per paycheck.
H. Alterations
The Company shall be responsible for the cost of all reasonable alterations required to properly fit the Flight Attendant in her initial, replacement or optional uniform items. A Flight Attendant will be required to use the uniform vendor for slacks to be hemmed. Acceptable alteration costs will be determined by the Inflight Department.
I. Employee Obligation Upon Resignation/Termination
1. Upon a Flight Attendant's termination for any reason, the unpaid balance of her initial uniform and optional items becomes immediately due and payable and the uniform becomes the property of the Flight Attendant.
2. In the event a furloughed Flight Attendant turns back her initial basic uniform to the Company, and she is subsequently recalled, she shall be credited for the amount she paid on the uniform.
J. A Flight Attendant shall be paid the following rates each month for maintenance of her uniform and accessory uniforms when on active status: $20.00 per month.
K. Upon completion of her probationary period, a Flight Attendant will be paid thirty ($30.00) per year for the purchase of uniform shoes as mandated by company uniform appearance guidelines.
L. Upon completion of her probationary period, a Flight Attendant is eligible for the optional regulation winter coat at 50% of the cost. Life expectancy of the coat is 42 months. In the event the winter coat is longer available, the Company will render available an optional winter coat of comparable quality.
M. Any uniform item damaged, lost or stolen while on duty shall be replaced or repaired by the Company at no cost to the Flight Attendant. Subject to her supervisors review of circumstances.
N. A Flight Attendant shall be permitted to wear the official union pin on a place visible on all Flight Attendant uniforms, in accordance with provisions in the Flight Attendant manual.
O. Changeover Uniform
If a changeover uniform is required, the cost of the new uniform items for all Flight Attendants on the seniority list at the time of the changeover will be absorbed by the Company. The Company will notify the Union as soon as practicable to negotiate any changes to style or number of individual pieces and point values.
