TO:        ALL AWAC AFA Flight Attendants

DATE:   November 10, 2006

Your AFA  Master Executive Council met on a conference call with Laurie Martin and Vince Portaro this morning.  We were also represented by Roberte Francis from AFA International.

The call was originally scheduled to discuss ways the flight attendants could assist the company in obtaining additional business from Northwest Airlines by modifying parts of our collective bargaining agreement.

NWA has a bid request out for flying 36 CRJ-900 aircraft with both first class/coach seating.  The hubs would be DTW, MSP, and MEM.  AWAC would like to obtain this business in order to diversify and grow the company.

The conversation never reached the discussion stage because management is still evaluating whether it is even possible to make this bid, considering all the elements.

Of course we want AWAC to grow and diversify, especially if it will make our pay, benefits and working conditions BETTER.  If it doesn’t involve improvements for us, then there will have to be some hard bargaining and decisions made.

Regardless, we will keep you informed every step of the way.  You have the final say.  You will have the opportunity to vote on any final decision which is made which changes your collective bargaining agreement.  You ultimately hold the power.  Your leaders will keep you informed.

Your MEC Officers will be in Portland , Oregon , next week to attend the annual AFA-CWA Board of Directors meeting.  We will report the results of that meeting upon our return.

In Solidarity,

Doris Duty,  MEC President
Barb Neisen,  LEC President, Council 03
Ginger Sterling,  LEC President, Council 28
Adam Novish,  MEC Secretary/Treasurer
