TO: ALL FLIGHT ATTENDANTS
FROM: ARW Master Executive Council
DATE: November 9, 2006
Yesterday, November 8, 2006, we met with the
Company regarding the AWAC bid for flying at Northwest.
We were told that AWAC is higher in cost than
other carriers bidding on the same flying. We are bidding
on flying 36 CRJ900 series aircraft, the agreement would be for
ten (10) years. Northwest would lease the aircraft and Air
Wisconsin would sub-lease them.
If awarded, the flying would be out of
Minneapolis, Detroit, and Memphis, with an emphasis on Detroit
flying. Northwest would like to award this flying by the
end of November, no later than the first week of December.
The aircraft would be delivered in May 2007 and enter service in
June 2007.
We are scheduled for a concference call with
the Company on Friday morning (11/10) to review costs of our
group. We will continue to keep you updated through our
AFA website and your e-mail address that is on file with us.
If you did not receive this update yet have heard about it,
please notify a union officer immediately with your current
email. This is the only way we will be communicating with
you.
If you have any questions regarding the above
information you should contact one of your local union officers.
In Solidarity,
Your MEC
